Ocean maya royale tipping policy8/3/2023 ![]() maybe because I wanted them to KEEP GOING lol. ![]() Room service is timely and tasty! They have the best ceviche I have eaten in YEARS. If you like to dress up and fine dine then this would be great. We also dines at the Blue Moon which was super "fancy" but not quite my cup of tea. Food: I am a vegan so I am always bothered by the lack of options, however this was NOT the case, I particularly enjoyed the buffet. If you can do without the ocean water you will be fine, if the beach is a must you can enjoy the sand or fight thru the seaweed OR walk a little under a mile and you'll be able to enter the water freely. The smell is a bit annoying but the bartenders seem like they are on a mission to keep you drunk so just drink and you wont smell a thing. Mother nature brings it back faster than they can load it. They have staff shoveling it off the beach before the sun rises. SEAWEED, there is NOTHING anyone anywhere can do about this. Let me just start with the bad, and the biggest complaint I see in reviews. Ok, this was an experience! I will try to cover as much as I can. It was a great week and I would recommend this place to anyone. We met people from many parts of the US, France, Germany, and England. The best part of the week was the people we met. Overall, the staff was friendly, polite and very pleasant. The Japanese restaurant was a lot of fun as Daniel, the chef, put on a show for us. The a la carte were first come first served so if you wanted reservations you just made your way to the restaurants early. I ate smoked salmon every day at breakfast. The food at the buffet was very good and we had plenty of choice. I swam at the beach every day after that. The rain was brief except for Thursday but all that did was cool the temperatures. We had rain in the evening of Tuesday ( June 6) Wednesday (June 7) and Thursday (June 8). High twenties to low to mid thirties all week. We spent most of our week at the pool which was AWESOME! The weather was great. The room had 2 beds and was big enough for what we needed. The shower was a bit small but it worked well. We were on the ground floor in a bungalow style of house. Our room was close to the lobby which gave us access to the internet which was nice. We had the all inclusive package which included our food. My wife and I travelled the week of June 4 to 10 2023. There is a cool box with beers and water as well. There is meant to be a dedicated waiter service, but we found it just as quick to go to the pool bar and get our own. Lastly on the beach there is a roped off section with "comfy beds". In the buffet section there is a seperate section for the upgraders, Air Con is good and you have a personal service. Example being Bombay instead of Beefeater gin. You did get Wifi in the room which was a bonus.įor the upgrade you seemed to get some "higher" end Top Shelf spirits, But the Higher End I would call "normal" in other hotels we have stopped in. We never went into the "standard" rooms so could not compare. There are no sea views as such in the Privilege blocks. We have stayed at the OMR and did the upgrade to the Privilege package.įirstly the room block (cant remember the number) but it is to left of the Main Hotel closer to the main area than the sea.
